Launch Your Career with Internship Studies
Your Internship, Your Next Opportunity
An internship is more than a line on your resume. It’s your chance to build experience, grow your network, and discover what you want to do after graduation.
FIT’s credit-bearing internships and internship courses are designed to help you succeed. Every credit-bearing internship is academically supported, carefully planned, and closely monitored to ensure you have the most meaningful and valuable learning experience possible. In many majors, a credit-bearing internship is an integral part of the curriculum, and the academic credit you earn is required to complete your degree.
What if your major doesn’t require an internship? You may still be eligible to complete a credit-bearing internship to gain experience.
At the beginning of each semester, you’ll receive an email with everything you need to know about applying. Before you apply, meet with a Career and Internship Services counselor to discuss your goals, explore opportunities, and find an internship that’s the right fit for you.
Ready to get started?
The Internship Studies Department is focused on helping you make a successful transition from college to career. The courses offered by this department integrate classroom theory and best practices with experiential learning in onsite credit bearing internships. Our courses combine classroom learning with hands-on, credit-bearing internships, giving you the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned while building the knowledge, confidence, and professional skills employers value most. Guided by experienced faculty, you’ll develop the self-awareness, career readiness, and workplace skills needed to make informed career decisions to thrive in today’s evolving world of work. This is accomplished through:
- On-site professional work experience is supervised by an organization executive. This develops your competitive edge and networking skills, while allowing you to apply classroom skills to the workplace.
- Classroom instruction with two goals: to empower you to make your work site experiences as productive as possible and to teach you how to successfully market yourself throughout your career.
