Whether you’re seeking an internship, your first full-time role, or a position post-graduation, this community equips you with the tools and connections to land your dream opportunity.
Credited internships and internship courses are carefully assigned, structured, and monitored to provide the most appropriate and valuable experience for each student. In many majors, internships are an integral part of a course of study, and the academic credit earned is required for completion of the degree.
In other situations, you may take an internship on a supplemental-credit basis. All students receive an email at the beginning of each semester with detailed internship application instructions. We encourage you to continually explore career opportunities, and to apply for a credited-internship after speaking with a Career and Internship Services counselor.
Internship Studies is an academic department supporting students’ career and personal development as they make their transition from school to work. The courses offered by this department integrate classroom theory and best practices with experiential learning in onsite credit bearing internships. Faculty prepare students with the self-knowledge and professional skills to make effective career choices and equip them to succeed in a constantly evolving marketplace. This is accomplished through:
- On-site professional work experience is supervised by an organization executive. This develops your competitive edge and networking skills, while allowing you to apply classroom skills to the workplace.
- Classroom instruction with two goals: to empower you to make your work site experiences as productive as possible and to teach you how to successfully market yourself throughout your career.
