Faculty & Staff
Career and Internship Services (CIS) partners with FIT faculty and staff to connect students’ academic experiences with their career goals. We offer resources, workshops, presentations, and career education materials that can be incorporated into courses and adapted to students’ needs and disciplines.
Career development doesn’t have to be a separate component of the curriculum. CIS can help you identify natural opportunities within your existing course structure for students to recognize, articulate, and apply the career relevance of what they are learning.

Ways to Partner with CIS
Integrate Career Readiness into Your Curriculum: Consult with CIS on ways to connect career development to existing course content, assignments, and learning objectives. We can help identify opportunities for students to apply classroom learning to real-world career contexts, develop professional competencies, and understand how their academic experience connects to internships, employment, and long-term career goals.
Request a Career Workshop: Invite a CIS counselor to your classroom for a career-focused presentation or discussion. Topics may include résumé and cover letter writing, interviewing, LinkedIn, job and internship searching, career fair preparation, and professional communication. Workshops can be delivered in person or virtually and customized to your course content, discipline, and students’ career interests.
Connect Students with Industry: CIS organizes career fairs, employer information sessions, site visits, and other opportunities that connect students with industry professionals. Faculty can leverage these experiences for student projects, assignments, guest speakers, and other classroom activities that help students understand industry expectations and explore potential career paths.
Support Credit-Bearing Internships: CIS provides resources and guidance to help faculty and students understand the requirements, processes, and expectations associated with credit-bearing internships. Faculty can refer students to CIS for internship preparation and encourage them to connect their professional experiences to their academic and career development.
Refer Students to CIS: Encourage students to meet individually with a CIS counselor for personalized career guidance. Students can receive support with career exploration, résumé and cover letter development, interviewing, job and internship searches, networking, and other career preparation needs.
Students can access FIT’s Career Services Job Bank (CSJB) to explore exclusive job, internship, and freelance opportunities. To connect with a CIS counselor, students should log in to the CSJB and complete the intake form. Students may also visit B-202 for a walk-in consultation.
